Best new machine I’ve purchased

I had seen the Singer Curvy 8763 sewing machine at the store and decided it was what I wanted. I looked around online and found a better price so I placed the order and had it in less than a week. I have sewed a few things with it and can say I like it very much. It is very light and I can carry it around with no problem. Other machines I’ve picked up seemed much heavier than this so I was pleasantly surprised. It also works better than my old Singer Athena but that machine had some serious use on it.

The automatic needle threader works awesome, and after I got used to the bobbin rewinder I can say that it works great as well. The DVD wasn’t that great with the instructions but I figured it out. The stitches look excellent as well, which is really what is most important to someone who sews like I do. It’s a nice looking, quality built, and great performing sewing machine. I have no complaints with it. It has been a great value and I know I’ll be using it for a very long time. If you still have doubts read some other reviews. It eased my mind after reading just how many people rave about it. The Curvy 8763 seemed to be one of the higher rated machines in this price range. That’s no surprise though since it does have Singer on the side of it.

Just the sewing machine I was looking for

I recently bought the Brother XL2610 sewing machine and am really liking it. I think of myself as a very advanced seamstress but I have only previously used Singer machines to sew with. I have recently become more interested in doing stretch garments and I really needed a variety of stitches. This lead me directly to this model and I find that it sews great, creating the stitches I need. I didn’t even have to adjust the tension, I simply followed the instructions on threading and it worked great right from the start.

Some of the things I really like about it include the huge variety of stitches, the easy to use stitch dial (simple to just select a different one), and the ease of threading and sewing with it. It is very smooth on everything I’ve tried but I have not tried to sew through more than one layer yet. The extra feet that were included will also come in handy as I get more time on it.

There also are a couple small things that I don’t like about it. The plastic presser foot is not located right behind the needle but rather it is off to the side a little. This will take some getting used to. Also, the overall size of the machine is bigger than I was expecting. Not a big deal but it is something I should mention.

My overall opinion is that I would very much recommend the Brother XL2610 sewing machine. I’m a big fan of the variety of stitches as I mentioned before and the price is very reasonable. I give it 5 stars.

Very happy with the Singer Confidence

I am no sewing expert by any means but I still need a fairly advanced machine that is not so complicated I cannot use it. Some of the newer sewing machines can be fairly intimidating to me, with all the electronics and fancy settings. That lead me to really research the newer models to find one that not only would sew what I need but wouldn’t frustrate me. I bought the Singer Confidence and am glad I did. I really love this machine! The basic things like threading and stitching are easy and indeed ‘Confidence’ inspiring on it.

Some of the things I like about it are the auto tension that actually works as advertised, the bobbin that gives me no trouble (unlike a prior sewing machine that I owned), the quiet operation, and the overall user experience which in my opinion is second to none. I mean, like I stated above, I am a novice at this and I am able to quickly thread this machine and start sewing. The finished product is also something that I am proud of as I show it off to my family. I am confident using the Singer Confidence.

I was overwhelmed when I began researching the many sewing machines out there. I had no idea which one to choose from. The reviews I read for the Singer Confidence were high and I’m glad I chose it. I could not be happier with my decision.

Excellent little mending machine

I bought the Michley LSS-202 Lil’ Sew mini sewing machine last month and have used it a few times. I couldn’t be happier with it as I have been able to quickly mend a favorite quilt of mine. This machine sewed right through the various layers without giving me any problems.

The overall design of this Michley is just like our other full sized sewing machine. With some precision and time it sews a very straight stitch. If the thread breaks on it just check the tension, and make sure the presser foot is all the way down when you are sewing just like on a full sized model. The Lil’ Sew also has some other features I didn’t expect for such an inexpensive machine including a bobbin winder. One thing I like about it is it can operate on batteries so I can just pick it up and take it wherever I go. It is very lightweight so I have no problems moving it around.

This is a great machine for smaller projects or quick mending that would be overkill on a full sized model. I love it.

Great sewing machine for a beginner

I am a relative novice and just starting to learn how to sew. I bought the Brother SE350 sewing and embroidery machine because I heard it was easy to use and could still help me learn embroidering as well. This machine is great and I find it very easy to learn on. The instruction manual that was included is also simple to follow and includes many sewing hints. These tips even helped me sew a small sleeper for a family member in only a couple of days.

I like that you can start and stop the machine using a pedal or a button. I am not advanced enough to feel comfortable using the pedal yet so I find the button to be a great feature. The LED screen is nice as well and it provides additional help for the many functions.

The manual was easy to follow for setting the Brother SE350 up for doing embroidery as well. The stitches came out so wonderful that I had to show my work off to my family. They could not believe it was me who did it because they know I am just learning how to sew. I am looking forward to creating many future birthday gifts on this machine!

All in all I think this machine is a great value. It can handle the more advanced sewing projects as I become more experienced but it doesn’t overwhelm me as a beginner. The SE-350 also comes with many accessories including many presser feet and needles, scissors, bobbins, an embroidery bobbin thread, and a cloth cover. I recommend it and feel it is a quality machine.

Very nice serger for the price

I recently bought the Janome 634D MyLock Overlock serger and really like it. It works great for those different threads that I need to create. I have limited experience with a sewing machine but found this serger to be easy to use. I also like the price as it was affordable compared to the other machines I looked at. This was important to me because I’m not a professional seamstress. I just needed a good machine to do different designs.

I read a lot about Janome and their other sewing machines. The reviews I found (though limited) all praised the quality and ease of use. I find this to be the case with the 634D MyLock. I am glad I made this purchase and look forward to many years of sewing with it. Maybe some day I will even open my own in home business.

Best low priced serger I could find

I decided to give the Brother 1034D serger a try after learning how sergers actually worked. While I am a novice I have used a sewing machine in the past but wanted to try out a serger. After reading the reviews for this Brother, which were mostly positive, I decided to buy one. I love it! It is extremely easy to use and it comes with instruction CDs with tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your sewing projects. This is helpful to any beginner.

My seams are no longer taking much time to finish. I used to zig zag on the sewing machine but this serger saves me tremendous time and effort. Plus the finished product looks better, almost like a professional did it. I find that I’m getting much more compliments on my decorative stitches than ever before.

Overall I’m quite pleased with the Brother 1034D serger and would recommend it to anyone. It’s very easy to use and gives great results. What more can you ask for? Plus the price is very affordable. You can’t fault this machine at all.

Good price on this sewing machine

I recently bought the Shark 80 stitch sewing machine and find that it has all of the stitch designs I am looking for. It has quite a bit more than I thought as the picture doesn’t show much. Some of the patterns are similar to what you would see on clothing at the mall which is great. I’m no expert at sewing but from what I can tell this machine has a lot to offer for the price.

I had my previous machine for around 10 years but only used it sporadically. It might even still work but I wanted to upgrade to something modern but didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg. The reviews on the Shark 7133 80 stitch were pretty positive with only a couple of negative ones that I could find online.

My biggest concern about it was that it was a Shark and by that I mean it’s not one of the top brands of sewing machines. You see alot of Brother and Singer models but not much from Shark. The number of accessories is limited compared to the others too. If my needle breaks or I lose one of my bobbins then I might have to hunt down a replacement. Maybe I can find a universal one but unsure at this point. I did check with my local repair shop and they said they would work on it if something happened to it. I have used it a few times and it works great though so maybe I’m being paranoid. Overall I would say it was worth the money.

Quality sewing machine at a good price

The Brother XL2600I 25 stitch sewing machine is your basic mechanical machine. The picture they show you is exactly what you get. It is pretty light in weight and really easy to use. This machine comes equipped with three all purpose needles plus all the extra features it lists. I had purchased some super heavey weight needles to use for jeans and had absolutely no trouble sewing with them. This Brother also has a reverse option for locking in a stitch, but you do need to hold down the button (not a huge deal though).

If you are searching for your basic mechanical sewer that gets the job done than look no further than the XL2600I. It is quite affordable and gets the job done. I have used it for several different tasks from hemming, fixing and sewing curtains along with other tasks as they come about. This machine features a stitch length dial that is pretty basic as well as width dial that typically positions the needle to right, center, or left position. The foot pedal is pretty tender to the touch and I find myself working without shoes so I can control the speed better. The lighting is great as well.

The one complaint I have about this sewing machine is the tension dial. It is finicky beyond belief. It takes alot of patience to discover the right number or the one close enough for various materials. I have been marking it off so I do not have to search for it again. When I go right to my marks then I am set to begin sewing.

If you are a professional seamstress or someone who is more advanced and is looking for a machine that offers perfect stitching then you would be better off with one of the new computerized sewing machines. This particular model sews as well as machines of the past and that is not a issue for me. It does, however, mean that sometimes you get tangled in the bobbin area. It does not affect my sewing at all due to the fact that I’m typically done by that time and just cut the mess out and continue on. I found the Brother XL2600I to be quite affordable for a sewing machine of this capacity.
